Community Involvement
At H&R Block, we put a premium on being a good corporate citizen. We're proud of the rich philanthropic tradition established by our founders, Henry and Richard Bloch, and work to honor their legacies through our ongoing philanthropic endeavors.
Since its inception in 2009, H&R Block Dollars & Sense has provided more than $2 million in scholarships and curriculum grants to students and high schools nationwide to increase teens' financial fitness.
H&R Block also works to help parents talk to their teens about money and sound financial habits. If you know teachers who could benefit from incorporating personal finance education into their classrooms, encourage them to apply for a grant online at www.hrblockdollarsandsense.com..
The Foundation grants approximately $2.5 million annually to nonprofit organizations in Kansas City to support arts and culture, community development, education, and health and human service. In addition, $200,000 supports associate and board community involvement activities.
Operated by cancer survivors, the Bloch Cancer Hotline 1-800-433-0464 serves as a source of information, support and guidance for more than 20,000 patients per year. The National Cancer Survivors Day Rally, started by the Bloch Cancer Foundation in 1986, is now held in over 700 communities in the U.S. and 15 countries worldwide. In addition, the Foundation has partnered with 24 communities in the United States and Canada to construct and maintain Cancer Survivors Parks.
H&R Block Dollars & Sense
A large percentage of today's teens graduate without an understanding of how to properly manage their own finances. Knowing this, we created H&R Block Dollars & Sense™, a comprehensive initiative to help high school students learn the essentials of personal finance, like how to manage a debit card, balance a budget, handle taxes, save money and avoid debt.Since its inception in 2009, H&R Block Dollars & Sense has provided more than $2 million in scholarships and curriculum grants to students and high schools nationwide to increase teens' financial fitness.
