Flexible Spending Accounts
This plan offers an attractive way to use tax-free dollars to pay eligible health care and dependent care expenses because all deposits made to your reimbursement accounts under the plan are made on a before-tax basis. Elections are made when an associate first becomes eligible to enroll in the company's benefit plans and during open enrollment each year thereafter. Direct deposit reimbursement is available.

Retirement Savings Plan
Regular associates are eligible to participate in the H&R Block Retirement Savings Plan (a 401(k) plan) on the first day of the month concurrent with or immediately following completion of 90 days of employment. Participants may choose to have up to 50% of their before-tax earnings deducted from their pay and placed in one or more of twelve professionally managed investment funds, plus a fund comprised of H&R Block common stock. The company matches before-tax contributions with a contribution of $1.00 for each $1.00 saved up to 5% of an associate's earnings. Associates are immediately vested in both their deferral and the Company's contribution to their account.

Employee Stock Purchase
Associates are eligible to participate in H&R Block's Employee Stock Purchase Plan after they have completed one year of regular service. Under the Plan, associates may have from 1% to 10% of their salary withheld each pay period to purchase H&R Block Common Stock at a discount price. Associate contributions are accumulated during an Option Period (January 1 through June 30 or July 1 through December 31) and stock is purchased at the end of the period. The price of the stock will be the lesser of the price on the first day of the option period or the price on the last day of the option period, less 10%. Stock must be held for a period of 6 months before it can be sold or transferred.
